Odoo module upgrades, done for you

Odoo's 25% surcharge for older versions starts April 2026

Starting April 2026, Odoo adds a 25% surcharge to Enterprise subscriptions running a version more than three major releases behind the latest one. With Odoo 19 current, the three "covered" releases are 17, 18, and 19 โ€” so anything on Odoo 16 or older is surcharged.

Who actually pays it

The fee is tied to your renewal. Contracts renewed before 4 July 2025 keep their current price until that term ends; contracts renewed after that date pay the extra 25% on the annualized price while on an unsupported version. Complete an upgrade before your renewal lands in the surcharge window and the fee never applies.

Why this is really a custom-module problem

Odoo's own upgrade service migrates your database and standard apps โ€” but it explicitly does not port your custom modules. That last piece is what stalls most upgrades: one in-house module that won't install on the new version. Clear it, and both the upgrade and the escape from the surcharge go through.

Send us the module that's blocking you. We port it up to four versions forward, test it on a live instance, and hand it back working โ€” $50 to download after you've seen it run.

Common questions

How much is the Odoo legacy-version surcharge?

25% on top of your Enterprise subscription, applied from April 2026 to versions more than three major releases behind the latest. On Odoo 16 or older today, that's a 25% increase at renewal.

Which Odoo versions are affected in 2026?

The three most recent releases are covered (17, 18, 19 as of 2026). Odoo 16 and earlier are surcharged. The window rolls forward as new versions ship, so today's covered versions won't stay covered forever.

Can I avoid the surcharge without upgrading?

Not really โ€” the way to avoid it is to move onto a covered version before the fee applies at renewal. The usual blocker is a custom module, so we port that one piece to let the upgrade proceed.
